PROGRAMME PRESENTATION
Welcome to the MA in Euroculture! Euroculture: Society, Politics and Culture in a Global Context is a unique, interdisciplinary and international programme that prepares highly qualified specialists, equipped with the knowledge and skills for work in the domain of European integration, be it at the European, national, or regional level.
Established in 1999, the programme was granted the Erasmus Mundus Masters Course of Excellence status by the European Commission in 2005 and again in 2011 in recognition of its outstanding quality. The Erasmus Mundus programme aims to enhance quality in European education and to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries.
The MA in Euroculture is a four semester (2 year), 120 ECTS, full-time programme. Students study in at least two universities of the Consortium of 8 European and 4 non-European universities, and are awarded either a double or a joint diploma. As a Euroculture student, you become part of an international network of students, academics, and institutions in Europe and in the Wider World.
Combining theory and practice, the programme allows you to gain a rare international and intercultural experience. Taking a multi- and interdisciplinary approach, the programme covers historical perspectives, cultural issues, social relations, political and legal processes, and artistic traditions in Europe. It differs from other European Studies programmes in its citizen-focused approach. It offers students the opportunity to study and discuss issues related to the process of European integration, such as multiculturalism, current political governance, European identity and evolving cultural and legal-socio-political processes.
The core questions of the programme are:
